I had plans to put this design on my nails and post this days ago, and have a new Hallowe'en design by now, but I have had the flu this past week, and although no longer bedridden and asleep, I still have a fever and all the other unpleasant symptoms that come with it. However, I am feeling a lot better that I did and finally got around to painting my nails. My biggest problem is that my muscles still aren't working quite right, so squeezing my nail pen was tricky, but you could use a striper brush for this design as well. It's probably better than using a pen, but it's all down to personal preference.
This design is easy-peasy when your muscles are working correctly. After a base coat I painted my nails black with Sally Hansen's "Black Out" and let it dry. Then I took Migi Nail Art's "Neon Orange" and drew lines from the corner of my nails out, then drew curved lines between them. Some I had to move and manipulate on the nail with a toothpick once the polish dried to a tacky state because I'm finding drawing lines difficult at the moment, but I think it turned out nicely. On my thumb I added a cute little spider but drawing a thin line down from the web, a circle, and little limes for legs (I couldn't only fit 6 and make it look good, but I doubt people will be staring at my nail close enough to notice). Finally I covered my design with Gosh "Matt Effect Top Coat" and I love the turn out! Have fun with this design! I took a few pictures on with and without a camera flash and my spider.

Happy Thanksgiving!
Hola!
Sorry I haven't posted this sooner; I've been distracted. I can't wait to tell you guys about my Birthday gifts, but one of them will have to wait until I... improve it (I'm not trying to be ungracious, but this gift was designed for me to 'improve' by the gift-giver). Anyway, the first is from my brother, and that is OPI's "Navy Shatter" polish. The other gift that I can tell you about is a gift-card to the store I tend to buy most of my nail supplies at. I'm not going to spend it at once, but I did take a trip there today and picked up a few things.
The first is Gosh "Matt Effect Top Coat" which I hope to be using soon, and Sally Hansen Diamond Strength "Diamonds". My plan is to apply this over a creme polish to jazz it up a bit. 'Sparklify'... I also got Rimmel London 60 "Green With Envy" which is a beautiful shimmery turquoise. Green is my least favourite colour, but my eyes were drawn to this polish. Finally, I bought Sally Hansen's "Vintage Violet" Crackle.
So for this Thanksgiving design, I started by painting my tips with two coats of Wet 'n' Wild's "TF". It's a nice shimmery Gold. For my fingers, I painted thin stripes of Nubar's "Neon Pumpkin" from the corner of my tips, then went over the stripes with ArtDeco's "Black" striper brush. As you can tell from the pictures, it's becoming clumpy and dry, so either I find nail polish thinner or buy a new bottle.
For my thumb nail I took MigiNailArt's Shimmer Green and painted a leaf on the corner of my nail. My leaf is a maple/oak hybrid. I then added veins to the leaf with MigiNailArt's "Copper" and ArtDeco's "Black" and added some stripes around the leaf so it fit with the other nails. Once the design dried I covered it with a top coat.
I'm super thankful that I have my nail art talents and that I have access to the products that I use. I'm thankful for my family and friends that support my love of nails, and I'm thankful that I get to share my creations with you every week. I'm extra thankful that you're taking the time to read my blog today. From now until Hallowe'en, I shall be posting Hallowe'en designs for you to see. Stay safe!

Birthday Bubbles!
Okay, I'm going to be conceited for a few seconds, so grizzly bear with me.
Happy Birthday to me,
Happy Birthday to me,
Happy Birthday dear Emily (you didn't know my name?)
Happy Birthday to me!
....in one hour.
Okay, that's done. I may be another year older, but I don't concentrate on the age thing too much, I just love Birthdays. Everyone who has found out how old I am turning this past week have all told me I don't look that old. And one "Yeah, I'd ID you." But I'm not going to tell you how old I am. I'll let you keep wondering. Maybe I'm 15, maybe I'm 20, maybe I'm 25, maybe I'm 30 (Please don't think I'm 40). Anyway, I'm posting this nail design as early as I can so you can see this design sooner, and I'm planning on not being online much tomorrow.
I love retro 60s designs, and my Mum suggested a champagne bubble design (she may not be able to draw, but she is super creative and I loved her idea), and I've been meaning on trying out a "My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic" design (Hey, it's a good show! It was written so adults wouldn't be ashamed to watch this "Friendship Is Magic" series with their kids) and this is what I came up with. I think it looks rather retro, it looks like champagne bubbles, and I took the character 'Derpy/Ditsy Doo's cutie-mark and tweaked it a little. Also, my thumb nail tip is almost completely torn off so I placed nail glue on the rip (works like a charm), and I have a tiny tear on the tip of my index nail which I also glued.
Let's see if I remember how I created this. I sort of made it up as I went along. First, I destroyed an eraser. Actually 3, but the other two were for test purposes. I cut around the eraser at the end of a pencil to make the tip a lot smaller, but still flat at the end.
It looks a bit rough, but I only cared about the tip. Once I was done hacking away at that, I painted my nails with two coats of Sally Hansen's "Nearly Nude 2" (It won't be completely opaque with only 2 coats) and let that dry. Then I took L'Oreal Paris "Trust Fund Baby" and painted the end of the eraser with it. I dabbed it once on a piece of scrap paper to get rid of the excess polish, then like a stamp, pressed it onto my nail a few times. I then placed a dot of MigiNailArt "Peach" in the centre of each bubble and let that dry, but not completely. Just until the polish became tacky. I then took a toothpick and pressed it into the bubble to make an indent, and filled it with MigiNailArt "Silver". Again, letting that become tacky, I took the toothpick and pressed it into the bubble again, but this time off-centre. I then took MigiNailArt "Glitter Gold" and placed different sized dots around the bubbles. I let it dry completely and covered it with a top coat.
I hope you like this design! I do, and coming soon I'll have a Thanksgiving design or two for you, as well as MANY Hallowe'en ones! Thanks for reading!
